Road Trip To Ludington For Burgers And Ice Cream

It was a rainy Tuesday in Michigan so instead of doing nothing for a day on vacation my wife and I went on a road trip up US-31 to Ludington.

A few years ago I introduced my wife to House of Flavors in Ludington. If you love ice cream parlors you need to check it out. This was the main reason we went off on a road trip from Battle Creek to Ludington.

We had dessert figured it now what to do for lunch? I remembered seeing a list of best burger places on M-Live from a few years back. Luckily one of those was on the way, The Brown Bear. There happens to be two locations for The Brown Bear. It's original location is in Shelby and the other is in Pentwater.

They are known for the Bear Supreme which is a monster one pound burger. I wasn't that hungry so I settled for the Spicy Jack Burger. My wife tried the Cub Size of the Bear Surpreme. Great food and hopefully this won't be the last time I make it up this way.

The road trip concluded with a drive through Pentwater and along Silver Lake. It is off season so nothing was open but it was cool to see what was there. My wife had never been there and it has been years since I've been around that area. Since it was raining I wasn't going to attempt the dunes.

A fun area of Michigan that I have rarely seen. If you are looking for a fun one day road trip can't go wrong with this part of Michigan.
