Ever wonder what would happen if scientific algorithms were used to plan a cross-country trip of the United States.  The idea is to visit as many popular places and landmarks as possible in the least amount of time for the least amount of money.  Also, the trip must make a stop in each of the lower 48 states.  I guess let scientists figure out the coding but how do you determine the stops in each state?

In an article on simplemost.com, writer Tracy Staedter grabbed some smart people and figured it all out.  The miles traveled would be 13,699 and visit 50 landmarks in 9 days.  There are obvious destinations like the Statue Of Liberty, The Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore and The White House.  So what was chosen for a stop in Michigan?  The Motown Museum?  The Dunes?  Tahquamenon Falls?  Nope!  The Michigan destination on he list is....The Fox Theater in Detroit.  I know.  I was surprised too.  Check out the process and more of the landmarks by clicking HERE.
