Should Prisoners Convicted Of Pot Possession In Michigan Be Freed?

Now that marijuana possession is legal in Michigan many more questions that we didn't think of before are continually being asked.  The new law states that anyone 21 or older can possess 2.5 ounces of pot and or grow 12 pot plants in the privacy of their own home.  And, as I pointed out the other day, can give it away to another another adult at least 21 years old.  So what about about individuals who were convicted of possession of that much or less?

Believe it or not there is a new bill that's being proposed in the state capital that would free some convicted of the crime of marijuana possession.  According to and article on wzzm13.com, the bill proposes that people who are incarcerated for marijuana offenses could petition a parole board that could order an immediate release for someone serving sentences related to the use, possession or distribution of marijuana.  I can see credence being given to the first 2 but the "distribution" aspect may raise some flags as we might assume that it entailed the "sale" of the product.  Check out more of the story by clicking HERE.
