Elwood Blues

The Bluesmobile with Elwood Blues

A letter from Elwood:

“In 1992, my partner Isaac Tigrett and I opened a club in Cambridge, Massachusetts called The House of Blues.  We wanted to honor the great working musicians with a venue worthy of their efforts.  Plus, we needed a cool place to hang out.

Harmonica master Charlie Musselwhite helped open the joint.  Later, Charlie ran into his buddy, a radio producer Ben Manilla, who said he was thinking of starting a syndicated Blues radio show.

Manilla passed the secret initiation ritual, and together we conned CBS Radio into letting us have air time.  Hey, we even wrote a book!

So many great years have gone by, and now we’re with Dial-Global Networks.  There are House of Blues clubs across North America, and we continue to bring quality American-style music to the airwaves.

TheBluesmobile.com is our first website set up exclusively for the Radio Hour. We’re proud of what we have done so far, but there’s always room for improvement. Tell me what you think, and what we can do to make it better!

The BluesMobile Radio Hour has won the Silver Medal award for Best Regularly Scheduled Music Program from the 2007 New York Festivals International Radio Broadcasting Awards! The New York Festivals Radio Programming and Promotion Awards recognizes “The World’s Best Work” in radio programming and promotion.

If you’re looking to get your CD played on the radio show, visit us here.
If you’re in need of anything else, come Talk to Elwood.

20 Famous People Who Have No Idea How Reality Works Anymore

My best friend when I was a teen came from a fairly wealthy family.  Fairly wealthy is an understatement.  They didn’t live in a gated community; they had a gate at the entrance to their driveway.  The house had four two-car garages, a game room complete with Skeeball, pinball, Foosball, an elevator, and (I kid you not) a secret passage in the library that was operated by moving a book

Brewers Announce ‘Inside the Park Nachos’ with Doritos Crusting on a Stick

First, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced that visitors to the park could treat themselves to their latest confection, The Churro Dog, described as "a warm cinnamon churro sitting inside a Long John chocolate-glazed donut, which is then topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauces".  Not to be outdone, the Texas Rangers have created the aptly dubbed State Fare, a fried food
