Scientists in the UK have been hard at work solving all of life’s mysteries.

What’s the newest study that’s going to blow your mind?  The big bang?  Nope.

How to provide clean drinking water to the world?  Hardly.

What could be occupying the greatest minds of our generation?

According to a new study by the University of Amsterdam in association with Manchester’s Museum of Science & Industry, Spice Girls' “Wannabe” is the catchiest song of all time.

Researchers determined this by having the study participants play an interactive online game called Hooked On Music, in which participants determined how fast they could recognize a given song. Out of about 1,000 clips, users recognized Wannabe in an average of 2.3 seconds, compared to an average of 5 seconds for other tracks, according to The Guardian.

Be honest, even if you hated that song, you remember EXACTLY how that hook sounds.  It was everywhere in 1996 – there was no escape.  Rounding out the top five; Lou Bega’s “Mambo #5,” Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Lady Gaga “Just Dance,” and ABBA “SOS.”
