Fans of 'The Office' remember the episode where Michael learns CPR to the song "Stayin' Alive." That happened in real life- with a squirrel on the campus of CMU.

There are so many squirrels on college campuses during Spring in Michigan, you hardly even notice them- unless they are drowning. Central Michigan University freshman Natalie Belsito was hanging out with some soccer teammates in Mount Pleasant when she noticed a squirrel struggling to swim in a campus pond. First, Natalie and her friends tried to help Rocky out with a hockey stick, then recruited a passer-by to grab the squirrel and fish it out of the water. You can't hold a critter like that by the tail for very long and, rescued from the pond, the rodent was unwittingly launched into the air and appeared to be D.O.A. upon impact with the concrete sidewalk. That's when Natalie jumped in and tried CPR on the little guy.

Honestly, when I was doing it, I was thinking of the episode of the office when they do CPR. I was literally singing that song as I tried to do it.

It worked! CPR from the CMU freshman revived the squirrel who sat, barely alive, twitching on the dorm room floor. Figuring it was more cold than scared, Natalie grabbed her hair dryer and continued rescue efforts. She shared the dramatic ending on twitter.
