The Mackinac Bridge will be closed this year for the annual Labor Day bridge walk, Star Line Ferry will offer service between St. Ignace and Mackinaw City during the annual event September 3rd.

According to the story from 9 & 10 News, bridge walkers will have the option of the ferry service during the bridge event between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.

This will be the first year that bus service will not be offered during the walk as changes in the event will have the bridge closed to vehicle traffic during the walk.

If you plan on participating you can leave your vehicle on either side of the bridge and you will be able to get back using the ferry.  Hourly departures will take place between St. Ignace and Mackinaw City.
