One of the things that really grinds my gears is athletes constantly celebrating.  I don't mind if something extraordinary happens and a spontaneous emotional response ensues.

The most obvious example is in football when a player on defense makes an ordinary tackle and then gets up and beats his chest.  Hey!  You did what you were supposed to do! Nothing more!  Act like you've been there before!

The problem has now trickled down to younger people (which is a whole other issue) and also to other sports you wouldn't otherwise think of for over-celebration.  Take this Steeplechase race.  Watch the guy in the lead start celebrating and see what happens.  He got what he deserved.
