The calendar says it is July and as it is now summer it is never too early to get that application in for turkey hunting this fall in Michigan.

According to the release from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, July is the application period for a fall turkey license in Michigan.

July 1st through August 1st is the period on which hunters can buy an application.

Certain portions of Michigan have a fall season that runs September 15th to November 14th.

It is a way for the DNR to limit the numbers of wild turkeys during the fall season.  If you want to apply it is $5 for an application fee.

The license is available first through a drawing then a limited license if you make it through the drawing.

If you want more details on the application period and on the fall season you can visit the DNR site here.
