But us olds know The Hoff as a beloved ’80s icon, star of Baywatch and Knight Rider, and a weird German pop music icon — so it’s not entirely surprising that James Gunn solicited Hasselhoff to help record a song for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. And it is special.

One of my favorite shows of my youth, "Knight Rider" turns 32 today as it debuted on NBC in 1982. The show starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight and featured KITT a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with Artificial Intelligence. Together both set out to fight crime.
