The Talons Out Honor Flight Fundraiser Saturday in Battle Creek at JB's Whiskey Old Style Grill was huge success with several moving parts.  When I'll look back, the thing I'll remember most is there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  As has been documented, an Honor Flight taking WW2, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans to Washington D.C. is a huge and expensive undertaking that Talons Out executes flawlessly.

JB's was a great place to hold the event because of their fantastic hospitality and incredible generosity.  The Honor Ride featuring over one hundred bikes rolled in just after 4pm and once everybody was in the party area, Talons Out and military personnel proceeded with an unbelievable surprise.  Turns out some Korean and Vietnam veterans who thought they were just there for the event were surprised along with their families by receiving orders from their branch of service to be deployed one last time to take the next Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials and other sites in the nation's capital.  Needless to say there wasn't enough boxes of tissue to handle all the tears.  Take a look at the the chosen veterans and some of the other sites from Saturday.  And to find out more about this great organization and all that they do click HERE.
