Today Roger Moore known for his work as James Bond passed away at the age of 89.  He will always be a favorite of mine as he was my first experience with the character of James Bond back in the early 80's.

I have a hard time trying to remember which film it was that I saw first.  It was either "For Your Eyes Only"  from 1981 or it was "A View To A Kill" which came out in 1985.   I remember back in the 80's  when James Bond movies were always shown on ABC.  I believe that was where I first saw Roger Moore in the iconic role.

I have gone on to become a big fan of the entire series.   Most people have a favorite Bond actor.   I like various things about all the actors who have played Bond.   Roger Moore was the one who I think had the best lines and who brought the best comedic elements to the role each time he played him.

He played the character seven times and if I had to pick my all time favorite Bond of his I would go with "The Spy Who Loved Me" followed close by "For Your Eyes Only".

Another favorite item of mine that features Roger Moore is the book he put out a few years ago called, "Bond on Bond: Reflections on 50 years of James Bond Movies".

Who else would be better on writing a book like this than the actor who played the character the most times.   If you are a fan of his Bond films or any of the films in the series he gives a great look at them from his point of view.

Seven memorable films as one of the greatest spy characters ever.  Thank you for introducing me to this great character.
