The Martian, The Walk, Sicario in Theaters This Weekend
Friend of the Rocker Morning Show, man-about town, movie critic, and raconteur, Ryan Jay stopped by The Rocker Morning Show to talk movies opening this weekend.
- The Martian:
- Severe survival. It’s steeped in science but I didn’t expect it to be as light and funny as it was. There’s a lot of comedy to it.
- The whole ending was fantastic. It suspenseful and exciting and really good.
- You walk away with a real metaphor in this film that you can really apply to your life. It has a great message in the end.
- See it!
- The Walk:
- …all of my high expectations were met.
- There’s a great musicality to it, without being a musical; but the camera movement, the use of color…
- There’s a romanticism and almost fairy tale quality to it.
- I love Joseph Gordon- Levitt and Charlotte Le Bon are both so great.
- I could see this again right away.
- See it!
- Sicario:
- You’re always on edge and that is to do with his shots and the sound design.
- It’s not really what I expected it to be because the trailer makes it look more action-y. But it’s a lot slower. It’s very well paced.
- It’s a crime, mystery thriller and it’s a slow burn
- See it!
