July 21st:

  •  Fontana Presents The Neave Trio; Wellspring Theater, $25.  7:30 p.m. - The Neave Trio is one of the finest young ensembles to emerge into the world of chamber music. The group has been featured at the Apollo Performing Arts Concert Series, as well as on the McGraw-Hill Financial Young Artists Showcase. Their performances have earned them rave reviews and prestigious residency positions across the United States, such as at San Diego State University where they currently serve as the trio-in-residence.

 

July 23rd:

  •  Taste and Brew of Kalamazoo; Arcadia Creek Festival Place, Free before 4pm/$10 after 4pm.  11 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. - Every year, on the fourth weekend of July, thousands of hungry festival-goers flock to downtown Kalamazoo to enjoy the endless variety of foods prepared by Kalamazoo's most popular eateries, celebrating local food and brews from around Kalamazoo. Cuisine from over 30 restaurants will be available, offering mouth-watering combinations of ethnic items, family favorites, exotic dishes, and local specialties. The Taste of Kalamazoo Festival attracts and feeds an average of 10,000 people per day in downtown Kalamazoo, totaling 25,000 - 30,000 attendees over the entire weekend.  Click here to check out the entertainment!

  • Gazelle Sports Historic Walks; Burch Park, Free.  6:30 p.m. - Join Gazelle Sports and Lynn Houghton for another exciting year of historical walking tours around the Kalamazoo area.  Lynn Houghton is the Regional History Curator for the Western Michigan University Archives and Regional History Collections and co-author of "Kalamazoo Lost & Found."
  • Summer Sidewalk Sales; Kalamazoo Mall, Free. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. - You won’t walk right past this – it’s the biggest sales event of the year! The three-day annual Summer Sidewalk Sales of downtown Kalamazoo is July 23 through 25, and it’s a highly-anticipated event that features a diverse array of bargains along the downtown Kalamazoo walking mall. Each year businesses join together and take their sales to the sidewalks. And shoppers find a series of tables lining the Kalamazoo Mall with an assortment of deeply-discounted bargains. And that’s not all – people will also enjoy entertainment, hands-on children’s activities, and other specials.
