Three on Three Basketball. It was a big deal in the late 80's and early 90's. It started in a driveway in Lowell, and grew to be a big deal all over Michigan and parts of the Midwest, and is still going on.

The Macker was the invention of Scott McNeal (Gus Macker) and his brother Mitch. The original prize was $18, according the wikipiedia.

As the Macker grew, the McNeals moved it to Belding. Then it grew to 5 cities around Michigan. Kalamazoo hosted Macker tournaments in the early 90's. I can't remember if it was 1992 or 1993, but the Macker was downtown on Water St. adjacent to what would become the Arcadia Creek Festival Site. The temperature was in the low 90's. Lots of Gatorade and water were being gulped. It was fun but hot. And we bet you were right in the middle of it all.
