It's been a down year so far for the Detroit Tigers but the future looks bright for one of their upcoming pitchers.

According to the story from the Detroit Free Press,  the Tigers first round draft pick this year, pitcher Alex Faedo and his Florida Gators won the College World Series.   They beat LSU in a two game sweep to win the title.

Faedo was also named the most outstanding player in two strong starts during the tournament.

Earlier this month the Tigers made Faedo their first round pick with the 18th selection in the draft.

Great to see the kid do well and exciting to see what he will do in the Tigers organization going forward.   Hopefully we will get a chance to see him in Grand Rapids soon as a member of the West Michigan Whitecaps.
