Kirk Gibson is known for his memorable baseball career.  Many forget before baseball, he was an All American receiver with Michigan State.  He is set to be honored as part of the MSU, "Ring Of Fame".

According to M-Live, Gibson will be added to the ring.  He will also serve as honorary captain for the Spartans as they host Notre Dame Saturday night in East Lansing.

This is just one of the honors he will receive for his football playing career this year as he will also go into the College Football Hall Of Fame on December 5th.

Gibson had a great college career in football but he is known for his baseball playing days in Detroit and Los Angeles among others.   He also managed the Arizona Diamondbacks between 2010-2014.   He now continues to analyze Tigers games for Fox Sports Detroit.

A true two sport star and a much deserved honor.   You can check out the game Saturday night on Fox beginning at 8 p.m.
