With a chance to earn two victories over the Los Angeles Angels at home, the Detroit Tigers started Thursday's series finale with a hot start.

After taking a 4-1 lead after three innings, the Halos scored 10 unanswered runs (including six in the seventh inning) to take down the Tigers 11-4. With the loss, the Tigers drop below the .500 mark again, sitting at 29-30 on the year.

Nicholas Castellanos drove in two runs on the afternoon, going 3 for 4 and hammering his sixth homer on the season. Ian Kinsler also had three hits on the day, part of 15 hits for the Tigers.

Starter Michael Fulmer was pushed out of the game in the fifth inning after allowing five runs in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss. He is now 6-4 on the season. Another large batch of runs came off of reliever Arcenio Leon, allowing four more runs in 1 1/3 innings. The Tigers pitching staff allowed 15 hits and striking out only one in the contest.

The Tigers return to the road for a weekend series with the Boston Red Sox beginning Friday night. Detroit is 3-1 on the season against the BoSox after their four-game series at Comerica Park in early April.

Jordan Zimmermann (5-4, 5.98 ERA) will take the mound in the series opener for the Tigers. Brian Johnson (2-0, 2.57 ERA) gets the nod for the Red Sox. Catch the action Friday night at 6:45pm on 95.3 WBCK!
