Earlier this week the Detroit Red Wings celebrated the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Stanley Cup Winning Team.

According to the Detroit Free Press, many of the players and coaches of the cup winning team returned to Detroit to celebrate that win at The Joe Louis Arena.

Players like Nicklas Lidstrom, Kris Draper, Steve Yzerman, Darren McCarty, Brendan Shanahan, Mike Vernon and more came out to celebrate the Red Wings 4-0 sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers in 1997.

The pregame ceremony featured an introduction of players as well as a speech from coach Scotty Bowman.

That cup win ended a 42 year championship drought for the Red Wings who went on to repeat the following year.  They also ended up winning it all in 2002 and 2008.
