According to ESPN, It is being reported that Carl Edwards is expected to retire from NASCAR.  One of those drivers who always seemed to be one of the great guys in racing in recent years.

A 13 year career that featured one moment that stands out for me.   It was a race ending wreck that happened on the last lap at Talladega in April of 2009.

He crashed on the final lap after leading the race and went in the air into the barrier along the wall.  He eventually got out of his wrecked car and ran to the finish line to finish the race as the crowd cheered.

This race also ended  up being the first NASCAR victory for Michigan native Brad Keselowski.

I don't have a specific memory of his victories only that each one included his signature back flip.   Another one of the recent great drivers in the sport who will be missed.

Good Luck in whatever comes your way next in your career.
