The Detroit Red Wings will start the second half of the season on Friday.  Before the game against the Leafs, they will retire NHL legend Red Kelly.    Who should be next on the list to have their number retired?

There are a few names that are on the top of the list of players the Red Wings should retire.

Sergei Fedorov and his number #91 should have been retired the year he was elected into the Hall of Fame.   He was elected back in 2015.   One of the best players to ever wear the winged wheel and one of the greatest players to come out of Russia.

Henrik Zetterberg is the most recent captain for the Red Wings, who had to end his career before this season.   Not only one of the best leaders the team has had in their history but another great player out of Sweden.  His number 40 should be in the rafters at Little Caesars Arena.

The last name that should be considered is Pavel Datsyuk.  He is still playing in Russia so he won't be retired until his career is officially over.  In a recent story there was talk  that he may return to the NHL.  If that happens we may have to wait awhile longer for his number 13 to be retired.

Those are three big names that if the Red Wings are going to retire anyone soon it should be from that list.

Who do you think should be the next Red Wings great to have their number retired?
