Many people believe the myriad of one-way streets is the bane of downtown Kalamazoo.  For me it's never been a big deal.  Well, once...I may have had a couple/three too many and got a little confused back in the early 90s.  Frankly, I like to think that it's just another thing people can complain about.  I've never been sure that the existing traffic flow is a bad thing but now it looks like we're going to find out.

According to wwmt.com. the Kalamazoo City Commission is voting on the transfer of control of some trunkline roads from the Michigan Department Of Transportation.  These particular thoroughfares run through downtown Kalamazoo and would enable the city to change the traffic flow making some, if not all, the one-ways into two-way streets.  Not only that but the city will take control of the adjacent land allowing permitting for sidewalk dinning/drinking, etc.  Now we're talking!!!  Get more of the story by clicking HERE.
