Wings, Hair, Snow – There’s So Much to Do in Kalamazoo

Friday, February 5th:

• Kalamazoo Wings Hockey Heritage: Wings Event Center, 7-9:30pm, $10+. The Kalamazoo Wings face off against the Toledo Walleye during 2016 CCM/ECHL Hockey Heritage Week – presented by PNC Bank & Bronson Sports Medicine. Zooperstars will perform during both intermissions
• 2016 Coopers Glen Music Festival: Radisson Plaza Hotel, 7-11:45pm, get tickets here. This family friendly (kids 16 and under get in for FREE), musically diverse and all-volunteer-run annual festival, presented by the Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association, will feature performances and workshops by nationally touring and regional groups, jams, guitar raffle, and a wide swath of enthusiastic Southwest Michigan/Midwestern music fans. Concerts Friday and Saturday evenings will be balanced by workshops and jamming opportunities all Saturday afternoon, so be sure to bring your instruments! Raffle tickets, and your chance to win the Grand Prize $3,500 Galloup Guitar, will be available all weekend!

Saturday, February 6th:

• Cross Country Ski Class: Milham Park Golf Club, 9a-11a, $15+. An excellent opportunity to learn the correct way to cross country ski, this introductory class will emphasize safety, proper use of equipment and how to traverse a variety of winter terrain. Learn the diagonal stride with opposite and double poling, moving and stationary turns, uphill-downhill techniques and how to choose and use various cross country equipment and clothing. In addition, personal safety and recommendations on local, regional and state ski destinations are covered in this comprehensive class. Please note a minimum snow cover of four inches is required for this program. • Hairmania: Shakespeare's Lower Level, Doors: 8pm, show 9pm, $5. Hairmania is bringing it all to Kalamazoo; the shredding guitars, the thundering drums, and hair, hair, HAIR.  Special 80s drink prices from 8-9pm.

Sunday, February 7th:

• Winter Sports Demo Day: Kalamazoo Nature Center, 2-4pm, $. Come play in the snow and try new ways to enjoy winter months outside.  Lee’s Adventure Sports will be on hand in the arboretum with snowshoes and cross country skis for you to test out!  Learn new ways to enjoy the outdoors in winter!
