Growing up in the late 70's/early 80's I was a big fan of the WWE.  If you watched on a regular basis, you probably saw a match featuring "Iron" Mike Sharpe.  WWE announced yesterday that "Iron" Mike  passed away at the age of 64.

Mike Sharpe was the self proclaimed ,"Canada's greatest athlete".  He held titles in his native Canada as well as several regional territories in the US.

According to WWE, he entered the company in January of 1983 and was with the company until 1995.

I will always remember him as enhancement talent or the term, "jobber".  These were the guys that would wrestle matches with the stars and lose to make the stars look great.

He was memorable as he would always wrestle with a black brace on his arm.  In his early days he would use this to win.  Later on it usually backfired on him.   He would also grunt loudly through out his matches.

Even though he was most always on the losing end, he was one of those guys who made his matches memorable. No matter who he was in the ring with.
