You can own a piece of Detroit Tigers pitching history as Denny McLain's 1969 Cy Young Trophy is being sold.

According to M-Live, the trophy which McLain won in 1969 is being auctioned off by Lelands.

Denny McLain won the Cy Young Award in 1968 the year the Tigers won the World Series and also the year after in 1969.  He was also awarded the AL MVP in 1968.

1969 saw McLain have another great season with the Tigers.  He went 24-9 with a 2.80 ERA.   If you are a collector another legendary award that you can own.

Besides the Cy Young Award, the site has listed another pitching award this time from Gaylord Perry and also a game worn jersey from the great Joe DiMaggio.

Denny McLain was one of the greats from the 1968 Championship team to be a part of their recent 50 year anniversary celebration.  The event featured many of the surviving members of the team in Detroit remembering their championship season.
