If you have been wanting to get out and kayak here is a chance for you to try out some for free.

According to Michigan Department of Natural Resources, there will be a free kayak demo day this Saturday, May 13th noon-4 at Belle Isle Park in Detroit.

This event will showcase the various types of kayaks from recreational to fishing and touring.   It is also great for those who have never experienced it and want to try it out.

This event is free, but it does require a recreational passport for Belle Isle.  If you are going to participate you need to register on site the day of the event.

I personally never had the chance to kayak until a few years ago when my cousin let me try it out along Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.   It was a great experience and glad I had the chance to do it.   Unfortunately haven't had the opportunity since then to experience it again.

If you have always wanted to try it this event sounds like a great way to experience it.

For more information on this event you can check out Riverside Kayak, who are hosting the event.
