Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Sets Sights on Kalamazoo Location

Dickey's Barbecue Pit appears ready to move into the Kalamazoo restaurant scene with a location near the campus of Western Michigan University.

The Dallas-based bbq chain appears set to occupy the space once held by Gallagher's along Stadium Drive near Drake in Kalamazoo.

The new complex, set to be christened The Shops at Stadium Village, told a Kalamazoo Gazette reporter they've inked Dickey's Barbecue Pit as the first tenant and the restaurant is slated for a late summer 2018 opening.

The other 2,500 square feet (of the former Gallagher's) has not yet been leased...

Dickey's is considered a fast-casual restaurant. It is known for smoking its meat on-site using wood-burning pits. And its menu includes beef brisket, spare ribs, pulled pork, polish sausage and chicken.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit has a ' in Coldwater and several in Metro Detroit. Here's a little something to drool over until they open:
