It was a safe year for hunters. According to the Michigan DNR, no hunting-related fatalities were reported during the 2015 hunting seasons. This makes the second year in a row without a hunting related fatality from a weapon. According to the state, 13 incidents involving injuries were reported last year. More than 60 percent of the 2015 injuries were from self-inflicted gunshots. Six of the thirteen were from deer hunters.
