Imagine using a rock as your doorstep for decades only to find out it is worth $100,000.  That happened in Mount Pleasant, MI.

The rock we're talking about here isn't just any rock.  It's a mix of iron and nickel that flew here from space.  Yep, it's a meteorite according to Fox17Online.com,

Central Michigan University says Thursday that the 22.5-pound space rock was recently identified by Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences professor Dr. Monaliza Sirbescu after the owner “brought it to her out of curiosity.”

The rock was first found on the farm sometime in the 1930's.  See pictures of one of Michigan's largest meteorites on Fox 17's website by clicking here.
