Edibles may have won the homecoming queen her crown at a Southwest Michigan High School.

Southwest Michigan authorities have sent samples to State Police after allegations that a 17 year old cheerleader distributed pot-laced brownies to win votes for homecoming court. The reported incident occurred at Hartford High School in Van Buren CountyClickonDetroit reports:

A batch of 12 marijuana infused brownies were allegedly stuffed into goody bags for the football team and distributed at school last week, the Hartford Police Department said. While police believed many students threw away or flushed the drugs, some were likely also eaten.

An anonymous tip prompted the investigation and reports say the teenage suspect is no longer a student at the school. The district is conducting its own investigation and local authorities may get involved once the results come back from the Michigan State Police.
