Red Wings To Host Prospect Tournament This Weekend In Traverse City

The start of The NHL season is only a few weeks away and training camps, preseason games are almost upon us as well.  To get in the hockey mood, The Red Wings will host their annual prospect tournament in Traverse City.

According to the Red Wings, the tournament will take place at Centre Ice in Traverse City.   The Red Wings will welcome seven other NHL teams in an eight team tournament that begins on September 16th.

The teams will feature top prospects from each of the teams participating.  The teams will be in divisions named after Red Wings Legends Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay.  The games start on the 16th and will go through out the weekend with the championship  set to take place on Tuesday Night, September 20th.

This is always a great way for fans to see their teams prospects in action before preseason, and before  they are sent off to their regular teams for the season.

Wings recently announced on Twitter that all games will be streamed on Detroit Red Wings dot com.

It's not the regular season but if you are a fan of hockey get excited as the season is almost here.
