While Oberon Day doesn't fall on the first day of Spring this year, it's pretty close.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale has been voted the best beer in the country several times over now, and along with Oberon, a flagship of Bell's Brewery. But as everything is cyclical in life, people are starting to get a bit calorie conscious again, so you'll be seeing Bell's "Light Hearted" beginning on January 20th.

While Bell's Oberon has its own holiday, Two Hearted Ale is a superstar in its own right. The latest example of that being a Top 5 ranking for 2019 on UnTappd.

For local fans of the beer voted the best beer in the country, Monday may have the feel of Oberon Day, annually celebrated in late March, coinciding with the release of Oberon. MLive reports Double Two Hearted Ale, a power-packed offshoot of Two Hearted Ale will be available at Bell's Eccentric Cafe

The press release starts with this daunting question: "Are your homebrew skills enough to get your beer served alongside Two Hearted, Bell’s Amber Ale, Oberon and others? Here’s your chance to prove it."

Traditionally, Spring is the time for refreshing, renewal, and Bell's is doing just that to two of it's longtime favorite products.
