The 2017 events haven't taken place yet and we already know the dates for the race events for next year at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

According to ESPN, It is being reported that Carl Edwards is expected to retire from NASCAR.  One of those drivers who always seemed to be one of the great guys in racing in recent years.

As this season wraps up at Michigan International Speedway,  Next years events are right around the corner.

Roger Curtis’s 10-year run as president of Michigan International Speedway is over.  There was no replacement announced Tuesday. Joie Chitwood, chief operating officer of the International Speedway Corporation, will oversee operations at MIS in the interim...

As I have the past 7 years, I made my yearly trip to Michigan International Speedway for the Pure Michigan 400.  I'll admit I wasn't that excited about this years trip, but after the finish of the race I enjoyed it.

This Weekend is The Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway.  Since 2009, I have made my way to the track for the August race.  There are many events that happening during a race weekend, here are five things I look forward to seeing the most race weekend.

Congratulations to Kyle Busch, who won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship on Sunday.  He joined Stephen Colbert last night on The Late Show to show off his trophy and to race Stephen in a Pinewood Derby race.

One of the coolest things I got to experience this year was a ride along at Michigan International Speedway.  I can only imagine how cool it would be to ride around the track with someone like Dale Earnhardt Jr. If you ever wanted to ride with a popular driver, this week Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced a contest for a fan to win a ride along with him in 2016.

The Super Bowl of NASCAR is this Sunday The Daytona 500.  Other than the August race at MIS, this is the race I try to watch each and every year.  Any of the 43 in the field could potentially win the race.  I have my favorites.  Who do you think will win?
