This movie doesn't get the love it deserves.  Sure, it's not as good as the original, but John Carpenter played a big part in getting Halloween 2 made.  One of the things that makes Halloween unique, is the lack of blood and gore in the film.  Yes, people get killed, but watch it again, there's very little blood and guts in the film.  Halloween 2 however, is filled with blood, guts, and boobs!

Halloween 2 takes place immediately after the first one.  Dr. Loomis finds that Michael is not only missing, but alive.  Laurie Strode is taken the the hospital and this is when we find out that she's Michael's sister.  Halloween could have been a 3 hour movie cut in half and released a few years apart, with extra blood and guts (and a killer hot tub scene) tossed in the second half.  The producers actually wanted Michael to die at the end of the film so all the Halloween movies that followed would be different horror stories, just tied together with the Halloween name.  This happened with Halloween 3: Season of the Witch.  Michael isn't in it.  People complained.  Producers brought him back in part 4.  Even though Michael Myers isn't in part 3, it's still a good movie.  Don't watch it as a "Halloween" movie.  Instead, view it as a fun horror movie and chances are you'll like it.

Halloween 2 will most likely be shown two or three times on AMC this season, so if you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.  Now, the version you'll see on AMC is a different version then you'll see on DVD, so it's worth renting the DVD instead.  Plus, if you see the DVD, you can see more blood and boobs.  I mean, that chick that gets in the medical hot tub, hot damn!  What a set of yabos!
