The Harlem Globetrotters are in Flint tonight for some much-needed comic relief and entertainment.  But out of respect for the crisis, they won't be doing the "water bucket" gag.  It's their best and my favorite so hopefully they'll come up with a bit that will be almost as entertaining.  If you're not familiar with the gag, check it out...

The Trotters have a special place in my heart having grown up in the 70s when they seemed to be on TV every Saturday.  In fact, players like Curly Neil and Marcus Haynes that set the example for me to become quite the player.

I practiced hours and hours a day to learn the dribbling skills I saw on TV.  At one point, I learned to spin the ball on all my fingers; including my thumbs.  While spinning the ball I could lift it into the basket and even roll the ball up my arm, let it fall behind my back and heel-kick it into the hoop.  I can still do some of it but not as well.  Tell you what.  I'll start practicing again.  Stay tuned for the video.
