We should consider ourselves lucky for the entertainment diversity we have in our area.

Take, for example, Thursdays In the Park, which started last year and is back again in Bronson Park downtown Kalamazoo. It's all that jazz — and tonight it's one of the best.

Master drummer Herlin Riley brings his unique New Orleans sound to Thursdays in the Park.

A regularly featured musician at Jazz at the Lincoln Center, he has performed alongside some of the biggest names in jazz. He was a member of Ahmad Jamal’s group for a number of years before joining Wynton Marsalis’ touring and recording group, and has recorded with such artists as George Benson, Marcus Roberts, Dr. John, Harry Connick, Jr., and Benny Wallace. This evening of jazz is guaranteed to leave Bronson Park pulsing with soul and celebration.
