There are so many parades throughout the year, that it’s hard to keep track of. But Michigan is no stranger to many of those great parades, being one of the few parades in the country that is nationally known for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Day parades. Michigan has so many great organizations and marching bands to highlight.

It’s no surprise that one Michigan marching band has recently been added to the list Group will be performing at one of the most prestigious parades all year long. The AES 500 Festival Parade will be celebrating its 68th year in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, May 25. The Grand Ledge Marching Band from Eaton County has apparently been invited to perform along with 14 other marching bands across the United States at this festival, to get people excited for the Indianapolis 500:

On the day before the Indianapolis 500, these 15 nationally recognized bands will march the streets of downtown Indianapolis for one of the nation’s largest parades, the AES 500 Festival Parade. The selected marching bands will perform for more than 200,000 spectators lining the 2-mile parade route. An additional one million TV viewers from around the country will tune in to the AES 500 Festival Parade’s Indianapolis market broadcast on WTHR, Channel 13 and national broadcast on Peacock.

It’s also important to know that also appearing in the 500 festival parade are all 33 Indy drivers, so it should be a fun parade to check out. If you live in and around Indiana, the parade can be caught on WTR channel 13 and nationally on Peacock.
