When most people think of a grand opening, they think of a ribbon cutting or a cadre of Chamber of Commerce representatives in hard hats and business suits with shovels. At the Hard Rock, they do things a little differently. There were more Chuck Taylors than Jimmy Choos and an abundance of tattoos and sunglasses as United States Senators rubbed elbows with bona fide rock stars. The event culminated in the smashing of twenty guitars as the Hard Rock lived up to their name.

Take a look at our exclusive photos of the dignitaries and stars who were on hand for the ritual and video of the Pete Townsend-approved six-string destruction as the $300 million Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana celebrated its grand opening on May 14th.
