Fans of the Kalamazoo Wings can begin the countdown to the start of next season. Earlier this afternoon, the ECHL unveiled the complete 2015-16 season schedule. The K-Wings regular season will run from October 16-April 9. All 28 of the member clubs in the ECHL will play 72 games (36 home and 36 away).

Kalamazoo begins the season on Friday, October 16 at the Wings Event Center against the Fort Wayne Komets. The K-Wings and Komets will square off again on Saturday, October 16 at Allen County Memorial Coliseum.

The Wings Event Center will be the place to be on the weekend, as 28 of the K-Wings’ 36 regular season home games will be played on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Other home schedule highlights include the 14th Annual New Year’s Eve Game versus the Elmira Jackals. One of the most historic traditions in hockey will continue on Wednesday, March 17, when the Brampton Beast travels to the Wings Events Center for the 35th Annual World Famous “Green Ice” Game.

This season the K-Wings went out west, next season the Western Conference comes to Kalamazoo. The K-Wings will host the Colorado Eagles on Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20. The Utah Grizzlies invade the Wings Event Center for three games on Saturday, March 5, Sunday, March 6, and Tuesday, March 8.

Next year the K-Wings will be celebrating 42nd season of professional hockey in southwest Michigan and seventh season in the ECHL, which features coast-to-coast hockey with 28 teams in 21 states and one Canadian province. Kalamazoo will play 18 of the league’s 28 teams.

During the 2015-16 season, the K-Wings will play all home games Tuesday-Saturday at 7 p.m., with the exception of Education Day games (November 4 and December 17) which will face-off at 10:30 a.m. Sunday games will now start at 4 p.m.

The four teams the K-Wings battle the most this year are the Brampton Beast (10 games; 5 home, 5 away), the Toledo Walleye (9 games, 5 home, 4 away) Fort Wayne Komets (8 games; 4 home and 4 away) and the Wheeling Nailers (8 games; 3 home and 5 away).
