The two Big Ten hockey rivals who met in the recent Frozen Four will face off again in an outdoor game in 2019.

According to 247 Sports,  Michigan and Notre Dame will play each other outside at Notre Dame stadium in January.

The game will be apart of the festivities for the 2019 NHL Winter Classic.  This year that game will feature the Chicago Blackhawks against the Boston Bruins inside Notre Dame stadium in South Bend.

No official date has been announced for the game but it will be played around the week of the Winter Classic, which will be on January 1st.

Michigan and Notre Dame last faced each other in the Frozen Four, where the Irish won to advance to the national title game.  The Fighting Irish eventually lost to the national champions, Minnesota Duluth.

This game should be one of the bigger match-ups in college hockey for the 2018-2019 season.   Notre Dame stadium is also set to host the Wolverines and Fighting Irish opening college football game of the season on September 1st.
