When the Red Wings signed Stephen Weiss as a free agent at the beginning of last season I thought it was a great move. He played a few games before suffering through sports hernia and missed most of the year. Then this season started off with a groin injury. I along with many fans wondered if he would ever do anything for the Wings. Last nights game was a good sign.
I have seen some bad calls in Hockey but this one is one of the worst. Drew Miller scored but the goal was waved off as the official called Luke Glendening for interference. This is from last nights Red Wings game in Washington vs. the Capitals.
Last night was the official retirement of Detroit Red Wings Defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom. Being a life long Red Wings fan it was great to see his number #5 raised to the rafters with all the other legends the Wings have had over the years.
News out today that Detroit Red Wing Captain and Captain of Team Sweden Henrik Zetterberg will not play the rest of the Olympics due to a Herniated Disc in his Back. Question I have to ask, was he even that healthy to even play in Sochi?
