It was starting to look like Andrei Svechnikov and his brother, Evgeny were going to finally get to face off against each other.   The match up will have to wait awhile longer.

According to M-Live,  Evgeny Svechnikov was sent down to Grand Rapids from the Red Wings.

The Red Wings are scheduled to play Andrei and the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.   Andrei is currently in his second season in Carolina and was a top draft pick last year.

Evgeny was a top pick of the Red Wings back in 2015.  He is coming off missing the entire season last year with a knee injury and has been up with the team twice this season.

There is a chance that Evgeny could be recalled for the game but it looks like for now the match up will be another time.

As Evgeny is back with the Griffins, his brother continues to impress scoring a goal that is worthy for goal of the year.
