If you plan on heading east on I-94 early this weekend expect some delays as there will be off and on closures in Jackson.

According to M-Live,  I-94 in Jackson will see closures as power lines near Exit 139, Cooper Street are being relocated.  Lanes in both directions will be closed up to 15 minutes between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 24th.

The work is being done ahead of an upcoming construction project that will see new bridges put in for Cooper Street and over the Grand River.

These projects are scheduled to start this summer but no specific date as been set.

This is the start of work on and around I-94 through out the Jackson area.

The work will be done in phases that will include the bridges along with resurfacing and a pair of roundabouts on Cooper Street.

Keep in mind these closure if you are heading east this weekend.  May also want to keep this area in mind for construction in the future.
