One of the greatest players to come out of Japan, Ichiro Suzuki is still playing at the age of 42 and is nearing a Baseball Milestone.

Ichiro has played for the Mariners, Yankees and now with the Miami Marlins.  According to sbnation.com,  Ichiro is 23 hits from 3,000 in his Major League career and one hit away from Pete Rose, who has the Major League record of 4,256.

That record won't be official for Ichiro as his numbers are combined from his time in Japan and in Major League Baseball.  It's still an accomplishment for someone that has had a 16 year career so far in MLB.

When he reaches that mark he will be the 30th hitter in baseball history to reach 3,000 hits.

A great career and one worth watching the rest of this season as he gets closer to a milestone.
