Illinois, Michigan & Ohio Have The Best Dental Health In The Country

Some people HATE going to the dentist, but I've always enjoyed it. That is of course when my face isn't pulsing in pain or I've got a broken tooth. But having a good dentist is super important. WalletHub recently pointed out, that it looks like all of the states of the Midwest for the most part have great dental care.

Illinois ranked first in oral health and overall, while Michigan ranked fifth overall with the second-best dental habits and care, and Ohio pulled up the rear in 10th Place overall. Here’s what they had to say about the number one spot:

Illinois is the best state for dental health, in part because it has the lowest percentage of people who have frequently experienced pain or problems sleeping in the past year due to the condition of their mouth and teeth. In addition, it has the lowest share of people whose mouth and teeth are in “poor” or “fair” condition overall.

How Did They Determine Who Has The Best Dental Health?

WalletHub explains who they ranked by state:

In order to determine where people have the healthiest teeth and gums in the U.S., WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 25 key indicators of dental wellness. Our data set ranges from the share of adolescents who visited a dentist in the past year to dental treatment costs to dentists per capita.

I'm glad they must have forgotten about me somehow with the amount of dental work I needed in 2023. My face was most likely responsible for dragging our state down a little, that's my bad.
