There have been some amazing concerts in Kalamazoo in past few years including ZZ Top and Judas Priest at the Wings Event Center as well as Cheap Trick at the Kalamazoo State Theatre. But the history of concerts taking place in Kalamazoo goes back to the 1800s and we've got the website to prove it.

I frequently go to setlist.com to check out what a band is gonna be playing in an upcoming tour they've already set out on. But a familiar name and friend in Dave Benson recently posted in the Vanished Kalamazoo page, noting that you can go all the way back almost 200 years and see our full concert history:

For giggles, I typed in "Kalamazoo", and while it's far from complete, it goes all the way back to 1873 and a Henryk Wieniawski performing at the Union Hall. And if you scroll up, you see the Prime Minister of Poland, Ignacey Paderewski (who was also a musician and the equivalent of a rock star) played in Kzoo in 1930. More recently, you see Chuck Berry, Danny and the Juniors, and Buddy Holly's Crickets less than a year before "the music died", all at Chenery Auditorium. But all this left me with many questions.
