The Peanuts Movie, and Spectre in Theaters This Weekend
Friend of the Rocker Morning Show, man-about town, movie critic, and raconteur, Ryan Jay stopped by The Rocker Morning Show to talk movies opening this weekend.
- The Peanuts Movie:
- This is classic Peanuts with a very fancy, contemporary look. The animation is beautiful – the CGI and 3D is incredible but they also used 2D elements in the eyebrows and for a classic, hand drawn comic effect. It’s actually brilliant how it honors where it comes from but is also entirely modern.
- It’s a bit basic that way and I’m surprised it lacks originality there.
- Stay for the credits because there’s a bit more at the beginning of them that is cute.
- Young kids will love it and the adults will experience The Peanuts all over again. I hope it launches an original story for next time though.
- See it!
- Spectre:
- Daniel Craig is so great.
- Amazing cars, martinis, womanizing – every time you hear the theme music you get goosebumps
- Opening is one of the coolest action scenes ever
- Overall, it’s about 30 minutes too long; lacking suspense
- At the end of the day, it leaves you wanting more
- See it!
