If you've never attended a Special Olympics event, especially here in Michigan, than you really don't know what sport is.  Sure the Summer and Winter Olympics feature the world's greatest athletes and and we put them on pedestals but the real athletes are the ones that don't have the "given" talent and perform at a high level.  That is a Special Olympian.  And now a huge facility will be available for those in Michigan.

nbc25news.com reports that special Olympics- Michigan is transforming an area school into the world's largest Special Olympic facility.  The location is the former South Christian High School campus in Byron Township.  The new center will serve Olympians from 36 regions throughout the state of Michigan.  It may not look like much from the picture but there is a considerable amount of land and other buildings involved.
