Stevie Nicks, Steve Miller Band and Eddie Vedder to Play Inaugural Bourbon and Beyond Festival
On Sept. 23-24, Louisville, will play host to the inaugural Bourbon & Beyond festival, which will bring together celebrity chefs, music and whiskey for a weekend. Among the stars performing will be Stevie Nicks, Eddie Vedder and the Steve Miller Band.
Joining them on the two music stages over the course of the two days will be Band of Horses, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., Paul Rodgers, Amos Lee, Buddy Guy, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, G. Love & Special Sauce, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, ZZ Ward, Nikki Lane, Shawn James & the Shapeshifters, Fantastic Negrito, Kiefer Sutherland and Dave Cavalier. The Bluegrass Situation will play standards of the genre, and other musicians will be announced at a later date.
Called a "celebration in honor of the soul and spirit of Kentucky" in a press release announcing the festival, Bourbon & Beyond will spotlight more than 50 Kentucky bourbons chosen by authority Fred Minnick, local chef Edward Lee and Iron Chef competitor Chris Cosentino. In addition to a 20,000-square-foot bar serving bourbon cocktails, attendees can sample rare bourbons at the Hunter's Club, explore the life of a distiller, learn about barrel-making and participate in free workshops dedicated to distilling, bartending, pairing and cooking.
Local restaurants will create dishes exclusive to the festival, and a variety of nationally recognized chefs -- including Cosentino, Lee, Tom Colicchio. Carla Hall, Amanda Freitag, Jose Salazar, Cosmo Goss, Erling Wu-Bower, Kevin Ashworth, Anthony Lamas, Anthony Falco and others -- will be on hand throughout the weekend at the B&B Supper Club.
Tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit the festival's website.
