If you want to enjoy a summer night and see the stars in all of its glory you can enjoy it this summer at Sleeping Bear Dunes. According MLive, Star Parties are are coming to Sleeping Bear Dunes this summer. If you are a fan of star-gazing, solar viewing, storytelling, astronomy, and meteor showers then this is for you as you will get learn something and also be able to see the spectacularly dark nighttime skies and lengthy shoreline that allows for uninterrupted sky viewing.

"Star Parties" will so much more for visitors as they have telescopes and information stations for visitors to observe stars, planets, and other things in deep space. Also there will be Park Rangers and members of the Grand Traverse Astronomical Society to help you learn more about space, the stars, and constellations. To attend a Star Party, you only need  a visitor’s pass ($25 per vehicle, good for seven days) as it required to enter the park, but the event is free.

  • May 25 (9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • June 8 (4:00-6:00 p.m. and 9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • July 6 (4:00-6:00 p.m. and 9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • August 10 (4:00-6:00 p.m. and 9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • August 31 (4:00-6:00 p.m. and 9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • September 21 (9:00-11:00 p.m.)
  • October 21 (8:00-10:00 p.m.)
